Abstract

Job satisfaction is an important aspect of organizational effectiveness, as leadership practices and workplace psychological conditions can shape employees’ attitudes toward their work. This study examines the effect of transformational leadership style on job satisfaction, with job stress as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed to analyze the direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The results show that transformational leadership style has a significant effect on job satisfaction (p = 0.010). However, transformational leadership style does not have a significant effect on job stress (p = 0.902), and job stress does not significantly affect job satisfaction (p = 0.654). The mediation analysis further indicates that job stress does not mediate the relationship between transformational leadership style and job satisfaction (p = 0.903). These findings indicate that transformational leadership directly enhances job satisfaction without operating through job stress. The study offers theoretical implications about the limited role of job stress as a mediating mechanism and practical implications for organizations in developing leadership practices to enhance employee job satisfaction.
